Burroughs, Hunter S. Thompson, and George Orwell, among many others. Many of Conrad s novels have been adapted for film, most notably Heart of Darkness, which served as the inspiration and foundation for Francis Ford Coppola s 1979 film Apocalypse Now.

Excellent though lesser known Conrad

Wonderful Conrad novella. Excellent characters, as one would expect of Conrad, and with an interesting plot. I do not want to give away details, but, like Heart of Darkness, it is framed as a bunch of sailors listening to one tell a yarn. If you like any of Conrad's sea stories, you will probably like this.
