Wow! Kaboom!

OK, I'll admit, when I first picked up the book I wasn't expecting something exceptional, expecting to have "Sub A Vs. Sub B, US Sub sinks Russian sub, sails victoriously into port, and that's that." This book had a nuclear-tipped battle that went far, far, beyond the average sub thriller (I would love to go into specifics, but then I'd spoil the many unexpected and awesome plot twists :-). The descriptions, being from a former SSN officer, are very vivid and realistic, their level of detail rivaling Tom Clancy himself. I also liked that along with the extensive descriptions of things often down the subatomic (which I enjoyed greatly), there was also a deeply personal story that is not neglected or forgotten in the book. Unlike some novels, you don't feel that you're reading the book as much as it feels as though you're being pulled along by the novel, and you sit back and enjoy the powerful ride! One thing this novel reminded me was of a Dale Brown novel (except underwater!) in that it had a fictional super-weapon based on current and theoretical capabilities, and is used in the most action-packed manner possible. Sure, as was discussed there's the "problems" with the name of the 637-class sub, the Mk-49s and Mk-50s, etc., but as the author has pointed out that was just artistic license so I didn't have any problem with that. The best sub thriller I've seen in a long, long time. I've been hooked on DiMercurio novels! READ "VOYAGE OF THE DEVIFILSH"!!!

STUNNING debut by newest member of techno-club

When I first read 'The Hunt For Red October' I was hopelessly attracted to Submarine novels. Unfortunately Clancy didn't write any more of them. So I began to search for the heir to the 'sub crown' of moderan naval fiction. I tried 'Kilo Class' and found it was okay, but not what I was looking for. I then found Mark Joseph who has written two exceptional submarine novels ('To Kill The Potemkin' & 'Typhoon') and patiently waited for his 3rd...but it never arrived. Out of pure luck I discovered Michael DiMercurio and picked up 'Voyage of the Devilfish' and THAT is when I discoverd the heir to Clancy's (sub) throne.
I have YET to be disappointed with ANY of the books by this author. You COULD read them all in whatever order you choose because they stand alone, but I recommend you read them in order because he just keeps getting better. The main reason why these books are so realisitic is because of DiMercurio's experience as an honest-to-goodness submariner. With that said, if you enjoyed 'Red October' than you will NOT be disappointed with this guy. His descriptions are first rate, and in some cases, a few sound a little far-fetched, but when I asked a friend of mine who had served on the USS Bluefish how realistic they were, all he said was, "Maybe, maybe not". He just wouldn't elaborate. Kudos to DiMercurio's debut effort, and his subsequent follow-up's are very much worth reading. If you count yourself a fan of this particular genre (underwater submarine techno-thriller) this guy IS the reigning king in fictional print today. No joke. DiMercurio is the real deal.

I'd recommend this book to anyone! A great miltary thriller!

I'll admit -- when I first saw the book I have no idea who Micheal Dimercurio was. The only thing that drew my attention was my love for military-type thrillers. I fully expected to end up saying, "Yeah.... OK. Nice Book. But Tom Clancy still kicks butt." Well.... after reading the book. I couldn't wait for the next to come out. A serious Tom Clancy rival. If you like military-type thrillers (especially when it involves the Navy), You'll love this book.
Basically, Michael Pacino, the main character, is a hot-shot submarine commander with the Navy in his blood. His father was a sub commander who died "on patrol" in the '70s -- his father's best friend happens to be Pacino's godfather & commanding officer.
When the "whole god-damn Russian Atlantic fleet" goes to sea, Pacino is sent to investigate and "it just so happens" that the Russian sub commander that he goes up against is the same one who is believed to have sunk Pacino's father in the 70s. As you can imagine, this makes Micheal Pacino all the more determined in his task. There are several parts where you will not be able to put the book down -- even for a minute.
There are a few things where it's "a bit of a stretch of the imagination" but very, very few. It's a very good book & I'd recommend it -- along with the rest of Micheal Dimercurio's books to anyone.

Great Book in Electrodynamics

This is a great book in electrodynamics, and could serve as an important suppliment to Jackson's book. The author takes a formalism perspective to the subject, which is quite enlightening to students want to do theoretical physics. Lots of workded-out examples are provided, students can learn practical mathematical skills through those examples. You can also enjoy the author's unique insight on some special topics, like Lagrangian formalism of electrodynamics and Casimir effects...

Someone may thought this book is lacking applications of electrodynamics, but I just find tons of modern applications in examples. If you are a bit worried about the small mistakes in the book (actually the "small mistakes" are not so much as someone described), you may find a pencil and some draft paper, follow the book and do the derivation on your own. This could be a valuable training to you.

I am disappointed about this book. The book is full of small mistakes and it just treats general aspects without making any advanced example of application. The proofs of the theorems are not very accurate and actually the book doesn't add anything to classical books like Jackson or Schwinger. I was expected an accurate work like the book of Supersymmetry of the same author.

This volume, the fourth in the series, represents a concise course on statistical mechanics, centering on the historic development of the basic ideas and on the logical structure of the theory. Major chapter headings include General Statistical Mechanics, Brownian Motion, and Quantum Statistics.
Originally published in 1973, the text remains an important resource thanks to Pauli's manner of presentation. As Victor F. Weisskopf notes in the Foreword to the series, Pauli's style is "commensurate to the greatness of its subject in its clarity and impact. . . . Pauli's lectures show how physical ideas can be presented clearly and in good mathematical form, without being hidden in formalistic expertise." Alone or as part of the complete set, this volume represents a solid introduction to statistical mechanics that will be invaluable to individuals, as well as to libraries and other institutions.

A good introduction to statistical mechanics

Wolfgang Pauli really is an expert in explaining the not-so-simple subject of physics to not-so-bright students of the subject. This book is another proof of that. His unique style of using not too clumsy notation and of getting directly to the point (a feat that is hard to achieve in statistical mechanics that must be studied with lots of mathematical prerequisites) could magnetize even the ordinary physics student to read further the text. Studying statistical mechanics, like other fields in physics and mathematics, bears fruit only when reading is accompanied with papers and pen for tracing the computations in the text. But with Pauli's statmech book, calculations with papers and pen can be minimal. In fact, mental calculations can simultaneously go with reading. The reader is properly introduced to the subject because of the simplistic arguments found in the introductory parts, especially the specific topics of billiard ball problems and central forces. The whole chapter under Brownian Motion makes the book independent and the subject very well understood. Historically, ideas in statistical physics was formed due to the inability of classical mechanics to explain the irregularity of motion of dust particles suspended in air or water. The only, but only slightly, "dirty" character of the book is the too early introduction of the subject of quantum statistics due to inadequate presentation of various experimental indications leading to the subject. The book would be a perfect one had Pauli discussed first experiments around the topic. But as an introductory book that inadequacy could be ignored. Generally, the book is good.

This is a short and light book that addresses the main subject clearly and concisely and, at various points, brings some different foci than those often dealt with by reference books. It worth have all six books of the serie. In addition, the book arrived within de estimated delivery time and in excellent condition. I recommend!

There is a section for every step of growing to give me the ability to grow the best marijuana possible

I have been growing marijuana now with the help of Jorge Cervantes now for close to 10 years, I started out with the marijuana bible everyone speaks of. It has been an up and down battle with growing, but I could always rely on the bible to help me out. I now have stepped up in the arena, and moved into breeding, and felt I needed more information. I was informed about the presage of Jorge's new book, and knew I had to have it, upon receiving this book, I was blown away, by everything. There is a section for every step of growing to give me the ability to grow the best marijuana possible, from pest and disease control, to how to properly breed for the traits you want. Being an encyclopedia doesn't mean it's just for experienced users either, this book is presented in a format that will be understood by everyone, with high quality pictures and broken down detailed explanations. Jorge didn't just stop at the information about marijuana, he takes you on the journey that has been his life's mission and introduces you to the people that have been fundamental in the legalization and de criminalization of marijuana around the world.

A comprehensive reference on all aspects of Cannabis production

This is likely the most complete and detailed reference available on the subject of Cannabis production, covering everything from the basics of gardening to the construction of large growing facilities, plant diseases and problems, breeding and genetics, pest control -- you name it, it's covered here, and in amazing detail, profusely illustrated with beautiful photos and informative graphics.

Interestingly, the foreword is written by Vicente Fox, former President of Mexico, whose country and people have suffered the worst of the so-called War on Drugs, and whose insights are especially poignant. Beyond that, there is a brief discussion of the history of medical cannabis, and not a great deal on the subject of legalization. That's for the better, as the situation regarding both medical and recreational cannabis is changing so rapidly. It should be noted that while the main focus of the book is on medical Cannabis, the information is equally valid and useful for those who live where either personal or professional Cannabis production is legal.

Beginning with a general overview of the growing process, there are detailed chapters on everything from seed selection and germination, indoor and outdoor gardening, hydroponics, lighting, life cycle and flowering, harvesting, and post-harvest processing and preservation, and troubleshooting the various problems that come up. The information is not just there, but it is well organized and presented, so you can look up and find what you need. I was especially impressed by the illustrations of nutrient deficiencies -- rather than just the usual leaf photos, there are illustrations that show how each deficiency manifests itself throughout the plant; I found this helpful because, at least to me, most of the deficiency photos look pretty much the same by themselves.

There is so much here that it's difficult to summarize it all -- no way to, in fact, other than just to say, if you are involved in the world of Cannabis production, THIS is the book you want! It's a very large book, 8.5x11 inches, and heavy as a brick. But for a resource that has pretty much everything you could want to know, and top-quality production, it's the brick of gold you'll be glad to have.

A remarkable piece of work, a true masterpiece Sir Jorge has created! An 'all you need' book to reference anything cannabis in a format that is easy to follow and understand. Brilliant and descriptive photos accompany the fountain of knowledge written in this book. One can genuinely feel the amount of effort put forth to produce such a gift to the cannabis world. Valuable information on not only cultivation but also for medical patients who need info on the different varieties that pertain to their individual needs. Included are the many modern ways to extract, consume and get the maximum benefits of the plant material. Scientific information included in many chapters to support the info.

There's even a recipe section for cooking with cannabis and the many options for this. If you could buy only one book on the subject, this is it. Thank you so much Jorge for this treasure! No seed was left unturned. I'll indulge to that!!

Eric Carle is the creator of more than seventy picture books for young readers.

Eric Carle was born in New York, USA. However, when he was just six, he moved with his parents to Germany. In 1952, after graduating from the prestigious Akademie der Bildenden Kunste in Stuttgart, he fulfilled his dream of returning to New York.

Eric Carle has received many distinguished awards and honours for his work, including, in 2003, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award for his lifetime contribution to children's literature and illustration.

In 2002, fifty years after Carle's return to the United States, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art was opened in Amherst, Massachusetts. Here visitors of all ages can enjoy, in addition to Eric Carle's work, original artwork by other distinguished children's book illustrators from around the world.

I am a beginning Japanese student, and I cannot read all of this yet, however I was beyond ecstatic when this came in the mail for me. I immediately sat down and began to sound out the hiragana. I learned a few new words right off the bat, and always feel accomplished when I find words or phrases that I can read well. For beginning students like me, I feel this would be a great book to read to help strengthen your Japanese reading and vocabulary skills. It also helps that I have always loved this book and the illustrations are adorable.

About the Author
Growing up in a small town in Southern New Jersey, Christian always had big dreams of making an impact in the world. He was frequently mentoring younger students and teammates and always loved being in a coaching role. He knew, though, that he needed to see the world and get out of his small town to truly make a difference in people's lives. At the age of 18, Christian enrolled at the University of South Carolina where he studied business management and marketing. At the age of 21, he started a painting business with Young Entrepreneurs Across America where he ran a $73,000 business in 6 months and was the division sales leader. The following year, he took on a leadership role and coached and mentored 5 rookie branch managers. His team produced over $360,000 in just 6 months, earning him Executive of the year. After College, Christian was determined to follow his passion for coaching and mentoring. He moved to Boston where he mentors inner city high school students, continues to coach students on a large scale through YEAA, and now focuses most of his attention on helping people break their limiting beliefs and maximizing their potential. Helping his mentees and students achieve their goals is his only goal.

I also highly recommend it for anyone who may think that they are ...

While this book may have been intended for those just coming from or going into college, I also highly recommend it for anyone who may think that they are a little more "seasoned" in the work force as well. I've been in business for the past 8 years and while I've had my share of failures and success, I could not relate any harder to this book. Christian makes his readers aware of just how much opportunity there is in this world and after reading this, I can admit that I am guilty of limiting my potential to do even greater things with my life. While I would have loved to have this book in my hand 10 years ago, I feel that the message Christian is relaying to his readers still applies to me at my age. There are certainly things in here that anyone can take with them regardless of where they are at in life. I look forward to applying the words of this book to my life and highly recommend it to anyone who wants more from life than to be content.

Powerful, Easy to Follow, Essential Message

I started this book by request of the author, Christian Chasmer, because he's a respectable colleague/friend of mine.
Upon flipping through the pages on Kindle Cloud, I stopped reading just because it was asked of me, but because the words written are incredibly meaningful and important for anyone to hear if they want to be successful. In fact, the 5 Principles outlined couldn't have come to me at a better time in my life. Not only are these 5 Principles easy to comprehend, but the book is written so well with added quotes and challenges, the principles come to life by giving you ways to put into action.

Ultimately, it took me 49 minutes to read. 49 minutes to read what could change me for a lifetime.

I plan on sharing this with my friends, siblings, and branch managers. I recommend it to anyone who wants to take an hour of their Netflix watching or Twitter scrolling in order to reevaluate what you want in your life and how to get there.

By first bad review I've ever wri
Cute, short, to the point. Nothing new or original. Not deep in any way. You can read it in one sitting. I don't think the author really understands how limiting beliefs work or are developed, and I don't think he has any idea what the law of attraction is. It felt like reading a Monday morning pep talk for a Fortune 500 company. I'm not knocking it, just keep your expectations low.

The sections on traditional equipment are quite good, lots of information, far more than other texts I've seen.
The section on sleep therapy devices is half-baked, of the little information that's there some is quite inappropriate, suggests the author of that chapter doesn't understand his/her topic.
